UCSB does have a fun party reputation and I know a lot of people from Los Angeles who did not attend my college would try to drive up just to party with us. Having lived in Isla Vista for 4 years, I know that there were also nerds there who I lived with and they were absolutely no fun at all. The super smart kids tended not to party or know how to have a good time if they tried.
